For this edition, we embraced a more glamorous, bold, and regal aesthetic, highlighting the fusion of contemporary and traditional oriental inspiration.
Two of our MUAs collaborated on this project — one artist handled the makeup, while the other focused on crafting a stunning hairdo style. This approach allowed our SG makeup artist team to showcase the synergy between hair and makeup artistry and the power of detail in creating a full editorial look.
The Makeup: Soft Glam with Earthy Definitions
For this shoot, our makeup artist in Singapore team opted for a more glamorous palette in rich brown tones. The eyes were deeper and more defined, featuring darker eyeshadow, shimmers on the eyelids, and dramatic lashes, paired with carefully chosen contact lenses to add intensity and depth.
The base was smooth and flawless, while subtle highlight and blush in warm tones added dimension and warmth to the face. For this creative collaboration, our amazing friendor House of Ivory provided one of their exquisite Sangjit gowns. The dress featured a soft jade green palette embroidered with delicate floral and oriental patterns.
Bold yet refined, the gown perfectly complemented the glam makeup and intricate hairdo style without overshadowing the overall look. Its rich textures and oriental detailing provided the ideal canvas for our SG makeup artist team to showcase a regal, editorial aesthetic, blending tradition with modern elegance.
The Styling & Photography
The shoot was captured beautifully by our talented friendor Nicole from Vico Studio. The styling for this part of the Modern Oriental Look embraced a neutral, earthy background, warmer lighting, and subtle shadows to create a slightly moody, sultry, and glamorous vibe.
Oriental elements were incorporated thoughtfully, shadows of leaves, an oriental fan as a prop, and the play of light across the intricate gown and hairdo style, adding depth and narrative to the visual story.
